The Challenge

Geodis Wilson is one of the world’s largest freight management companies.

When Geodis Wilson acquired one of its major competitors, it needed to integrate systems of the two companies. However, the acquired company had been using Citrix software for many years with desktops machines and central servers reaching end of life. New investments were needed to integrate these systems with Geodis Wilson’s infrastructure.

The Northdoor Solution

Northdoor helped Geodis Wilson to implement a Citrix solution on IBM BladeCentre and to replace end-of-life PCs with ultra-thin-client JackPCs. The solution transformed the client’s infrastructure to a more flexible, secure and cost-efficient one resulting in significant cost savings.

Benefits

  • Reduce total software license costs by around 30%
  • Reduce PC costs per user by around 30%
  • Reduce network bandwidth charges by around 20%
