Management: Consultancy in Action
In a major project for a Lloyd’s syndicate, Northdoor provided full project management for a Lloyd’s Messaging enhancement and numerous other improvements. In addition to managing a team of 3 programmers to deliver the changes to schedule and budget, we managed, scheduled and recorded progress, reporting at Director level to ensure project progress was maintained, as well as liasing with key users to ensure enhancements met user expectations and approval. Throughout this project our knowledge and experience of this organisation’s systems and the Lloyd’s market were vital, enabling us to deliver a business critical project. We have also been able to provide our client with a full understanding of the potential effects this project may have on other systems within the business.
For a Lloyd’s managing agency, we managed an initiative to improve the financial reporting processes to allow management to access current, accurate financial and business performance data to help them run the business and report to the agency’s parent company more effectively.
We have placed interim managers in diverse roles, from IT Manager to Business Applications & Consultancy Manager. in numerous organisations across a range of sectors.
At a major insurer, we managed the IT department for a period of six months whilst the Manager took long-term sick leave, guiding staff through development of new systems and infrastructure renewal and ultimately assisting with the selection of a new IT Manager. The continuity of service from IT department and sustained focus for employees was vital to the company during a difficult period.
At another insurer, we managed the applications development and support operation for a year while the previous incumbent was on a project assignment and until a replacement had been recruited.
