Selection Services - preparing the ground

Once IT strategy is agreed, whether as a result of a study by us or from another source, it often requires the selection of new technology platforms, software or suppliers of bespoke application development services. We can manage all phases of this process, from identifying technologies to selecting the most appropriate supplier.

Our activities in this area are designed to prepare the ground to ensure the most efficient and effective deployment of new applications, and the tasks we typically perform include:

Invitation-to-tender Management

This is where we manage the selection of a third-party supplier to deliver a defined service or product. We cover all stages of the ITT process, from agreeing the scope of the service or product that is required and specifying both functional and nonfunctional requirements of products and suppliers, to managing and documenting all aspects of the tender, assessment and response. Our output here is in the form of a selection recommendation report and optional management presentation, and can embrace contract negotiation if necessary.

Technology Selection

This is where we manage the selection of hardware, telecommunications, database management systems, development tools, software packages, end-user enquiry and reporting tools against a written specification or checklist to assess the candidate offerings. It also checks the reliability of the supplier’s installation, support and maintenance capability.
