System p

Traditionally known as IBM’s UNIX platform, System p servers have been designed to help you maximise the return you receive on your IT investment while improving responsiveness of systems and people. Northdoor and System p

Since the launch of the RS6000 in 1990 Northdoor has been involved in the implementation of a large number of projects designed around the System p platform. Northdoor are highly skilled in the implementation and support of all the leading databases in this area including Oracle and Sybase. For example at Munich Re-Insurance Northdoor co-wrote developed and continue to support their Galahad application (Group Life and Health Administrative System) which has been successfully deployed on Oracle under both AIX and Solaris.

Following the recent developments on the platform Northdoor are fully versed in the new POWER systems, the next generation of POWER architecture technology, which has been developed to allow you to deploy any permutation or combination of OS400, AIX and Linux. Power systems unify the strengths of System i and System p and are the industry’s leading UNIX platform supporting over 15,000 proven solutions for AIX, i and Linux.
