Northdoor and System x and Blade Center

Northdoor have implemented IBM System x solutions for over ten years. Since the launch of the IBM Netfinity back in the mid-1990s Northdoor have had trained and qualified specialists implementing servers in both large and small businesses.   We have implemented system x servers for numerous customers where they have been used for infrastructure functions such as File/Print, Messaging, Application Servers, Web Servers and Database Servers.   Implementations of entire server infrastructures have been completed for a number of customers such as DigitalUK, First Counsel, European Acquisition Ltd, and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria.   Blade Center solutions are becoming ever more popular for consolidating systems and we have implemented solutions for ACE Insurance, Ghana Bank and Daiwa Securities Bank to name a few.   Northdoor have vast experience in working with mainstream software providers. As we are Microsoft, Oracle, Sybase, Tivoli and Lotus partners, we have in-depth knowledge and complex system installations are part of our regular schedule. Recent implementations include a new server infrastructure to support SAP for French Connection, Lotus Domino for Telos, and Microsoft SQL server for Hendrickson Europe Ltd.  

Northdoor are also VMware Enterprise partners providing consolidation and Disaster recovery solutions to clients, allowing the use of the untapped potential of servers that run at as little as 10% utilisation and reduce the number of servers, the power draw and the heat output that is causing so many problems for clients with server sprawl. We have collaborated on VMware solutions with a number of our clients including Barbara Houghton Associates, Ace Insurance and Buzzacot Chartered Accountants.
