Vapormatic had been using MAPICS ERP Software running on an IBM AS/400 620 machine for around five years, and was beginning to encounter capacity and performance issues. Working with Vapormatic we designed a solution based on an IBM i520 server with Intergrated xSeries Server (IXS) card and Ultrium Tape Drive to run its Windows based intranet. The solution dramatically improved performance: an order previously completed in 50 minutes now takes just 5 minutes, boosting customer satisfaction while the new IXS based data- mining delivers faster business intelligence.
