Northdoor wins ACORD’s ‘Round Trip of Data’ award highlighting the value of integrated data solutions for insurance firms
26 October 2012
Northdoor, the IT consultancy for the insurance sector, today announces that it has won the 2012 ACORD ‘Global Reinsurance and Large Commercial Round Trip of Data Accomplishment’ award for the e-endorsement capability within its NDEX insurance system.
Northdoor has been awarded for its outstanding capability in providing integrated data solutions for electronic trading. The NDEX e-endorsement functionality allows data to be exchanged in a structured format using standard messaging from industry standards body ACORD, and it fully integrates with the industry leading Web Connectivity gateway. Furthermore, underwriters can stay in the NDEX insurance system to receive and respond to the messages rather than having to log in to a separate system to perform this function. As well as saving effort, the data remains in one place, enabling improved data access and management.
The award highlights the value of putting data at the centre of underwriting risk and the importance of highly interoperable and modular technology solutions that allow new functionalities to be easily added to take advantage of the new initiatives in the insurance market.
Mark Barwick, Reinsurance Large Commercial Programme Director at ACORD, said,
"The round trip of data award recognises the importance of the data, the integration into current systems and the associated improved user experience. Northdoor has won this award because its NDEX e-endorsement component for the London Market, and this is a great example of how ACORD standards can be used to generate real value for insurers. The more integration that occurs within the core systems the better the user experience and this can only help the electronic initiatives gain traction and momentum which will benefit the whole insurance industry."
Rob Stavrou, commercial director of integrated solutions at Northdoor, said,
“We’re very pleased to receive this recognition for our work. As ACORD is the international body that develops and maintains data standards for the insurance industry, recognition from this particular organisation shows our commitment to developing the best possible solutions for our clients. This award highlights the value our insurance clients are placing in the role of IT and draws attention to Northdoor’s 23 years of expertise in Lloyd’s of London and other global insurance markets. We aim to continue developing solutions that support the work Lloyd’s and ACORD are undertaking to promote electronic trading and build further on capabilities within our NDEX insurance solution to best serve our clients.”
