Northdoor Helped Ark Syndicate Management to Launch its Underwriting Services

Ark Syndicate Management Limited (Ark) is a Lloyd’s-based underwriting agency. Ark was founded in 2007 and at the time needed an IT system and infrastructure to deliver its business plan and satisfy the regulators.

Ark selected Northdoor’s underwriting system ‘N-DEX Suite’ which is a Lloyd’s and FSA compliant application. The N-DEX Suite offers swift implementation and scalability. It not only enabled the initial trading but also allowed Ark to grow as the agency entered new lines of business and added an additional insurance entity.

In addition to the core underwriting system, Northdoor also provided ARK with long-term IT support, including application and systems management, support of interfaces, data services and the internal IT infrastructure. Northdoor also provides contingency support for disaster recovery.

Since its launch in 2007, Ark has grown dramatically from less than 10 people to nearly 100 and is continuing to expand. This growth was aided by the flexible systems and managed services provided by Northdoor.
