Northdoor named as a finalist in the European IT Excellence Awards 2011

Northdoor, the IT consultancy and solutions provider, has been named as a finalist in the Managed Service category of the European IT Excellence Awards 2011 (http://www.iteawards.com).

Northdoor was selected as a finalist for its work with Freesat, a subscription-free satellite TV service. A dedicated managed IT infrastructure was designed and implemented for Freesat by Northdoor, which went live within a month. Now, IT support is also provided on a daily basis, as Northdoor constantly monitors all the Freesat systems and identifies any security or performance issues that might arise.

Simon Winder, Finance Director, Freesat, said:
“In the eight months since Northdoor took over the management of Freesat’s IT, there has been a significant reduction in the number of IT problems and support calls made. In fact, the cost of the initial project and the technical support from Northdoor has seen us generate a significant cost-saving relative to our previous IT systems and support provider.”
