The Northdoor approach
At Northdoor, we pride ourselves on our ability to understand what drives our clients’ businesses and to provide data-driven solutions that deliver long-term value. All our services are underpinned by our unique AIM methodology, which stands for Advise, Implement and Manage.
AIM helps ensure that we design the best solutions to meet client objectives, that they are implemented correctly and efficiently, and that they continue to be maintained and kept relevant. Based on 30 years’ experience and reviews of other best-practice approaches, we believe that AIM delivers the best ongoing value for our clients.

The Advise phase of our AIM approach is designed to ensure that the right solution is put in place and that it can be measured for success against the business and IT objectives.
AIM includes a Target Workshop, the purpose of which is to validate the perceived benefits of the project and ensure that there is a shared understanding of objectives. Typically at this stage we will also discuss a number of high-level options for the solution.
For larger projects, the next stage will be to assess the business and technical requirements. We will also then define the solution set most appropriate for the project, and assess migration and integration requirements. This stage may also include prototyping and/or a proof of concept activity, particularly where the visual aspect of a solution is critical, such as for a Portal or an e-Business solution.
At the Implement phase, we dig into the detail of the technical design and ensure that all activities are planned and managed meticulously to ensure a successful outcome. Northdoor will take full ownership for all aspects of the project, including client and third-party activities.
We will continue to measure any decisions against the objective and requirements from the Advise phase, and take all necessary actions to ensure the project stays on track. Where migration from other solutions is required we will manage this in accordance with our proven migration approach. As expert solution integrators, we will ensure that all technology components are smoothly integrated into an optimised solution.
We can support every aspect of a solution from the technical platform through to the user interface. We deploy and support business solutions on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid of the two.
Our approach to managing solutions is to carry out proactive optimisation to protect against obsolescence and operational risk. Our continuous improvement process for business applications also extends to the periodic reassessment of the business priorities. In this way, we ensure that every solution remains fit for purpose as regards both IT and business needs.
Northdoor services delivered within the Manage phase are designed to be modular, complementing the in-house capabilities of our clients by enabling them to choose the precise mix of services they require.
