What are the Computing Security Awards?
The Computing Security Awards have run every year since 2010 and are organised by Computing Security magazine. They recognise the firms, products and services protecting the digital infrastructure that organisations depend on.
The awards begin with an industry nomination stage. The shortlisted organisations then progress to a public vote, which decides the winners.
Which categories is Northdoor shortlisted in?
Northdoor is shortlisted for Security Service Provider of the Year and the Cyber Security Customer Service Award. Both categories appear on the same voting page.
Why does customer service belong in a security award?
When a security incident occurs, clients need more than the right technology. They also need a team that responds quickly, communicates clearly and understands their environment. Response times, named contacts and honest communication can all affect how an incident is managed. This is why Northdoor considers customer service an important part of its managed security services.
Northdoor has worked in this market for more than three decades and holds ISO 27001:2022 certification. For us, customer service means providing responsive support, clear communication and access to people who understand the client’s environment.
What happened at last year’s awards?
Northdoor won Security Project of the Year at the 2025 Computing Security Awards, at a ceremony held at the Hilton London Tower Bridge in October, for a security project delivered with The Salvation Army.
The scale gives a sense of the problem. The charity operates across roughly 700 locations, with around 2,500 laptops and 250 servers, and a small internal IT team facing active targeting of senior executives alongside vulnerabilities in the supply chain. The work involved a multilayered approach, including supply chain security monitoring through Panorays.
“The threat to the charity sector is only going to increase in the coming months,” said Richard Hartill, Client Manager at Northdoor, when the award was announced. “With a lack of internal resources and complex supply chains, this can seem like an impossible task to some. What we have managed to prove with this project is that good security is achievable when you work with the right partners and implement best-of-breed solutions.”
AJ Thompson, Chief Commercial Officer at Northdoor, collected that award alongside Miguel Fiallos, Chief Information Officer, and Jon Harrex, Head of Information Security, at The Salvation Army.
How do you vote in the Computing Security Awards 2026?
Voting runs until Tuesday 6 October and the form takes a couple of minutes. Three things are worth knowing before you start.
- Use a valid work email address. Gmail, Hotmail and similar personal accounts are not accepted. Check that you receive the confirmation email after voting.
- Scroll to the category by name. The category list is long and the options sit inside dropdown menus, so a page search will not find us.
- Have your details to hand. The form asks for job title, employer, industry, postcode and phone number, then confirms the vote with a short code sent to you.

The ceremony takes place on Thursday 15 October at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Bloomsbury Street, London, where winners and runners-up are announced on the night.
