The Challenge
The Trust was sharing data for research purposes and in order to meet NHS Data Governance Standards the Trust had to ensure that personal identifiers were removed from data sets to ensure that patients cannot be recognised from the information. This process was very manual and cumbersome taking the time of a full time resource.
The Solution
- Northdoor deployed a solution to fully automate the pseudonymisation process in-house
- Ensures all personal data is removed automatically as part of the export process
- Ability to set in-built customer routines to pseudonymise, blank, anonymise or partially anonymise patient data as required
The Benefits
The Trust now has the capability to rapidly deliver pseudonymised data sets; safeguarding personal and sensitive patient information. The fully automised process increases accuracy and produces a full audit trail in order to meet the regulations and demonstrate pseudonymisation to auditors. Also the increase in speed has allowed for resource to be redeployed elsewhere in the department.
