Northdoor log

Here at Northdoor, we were in the fortunate position that we were already set up for remote working as it is something that we offer to all of our team and is part of our business continuity plan as well, so we have been able to make the transition without disruption to our colleagues and clients.

We are making more of the tools we use, such as Microsoft Teams to stay connected as a team and encouraging everyone to turn on the webcam so we can still actually see each other (sounds small but makes a huge difference).

Safeguarding mental health is just as important to us as physical wellbeing, so we’ve replaced ad-hoc face-to-face chats with regular video check-ins. We’re also trying to keep people upbeat in by using Microsoft Teams to transfer the office spirit and sense of fun into the world of digital and more.

Northdoor team meeting remote working

As with most things, communication is key, and we have implemented daily updates to the wider business to keep them up to date on us as a business, government and NHS advice and more. The Leadership Team are meeting regularly via video to discuss next steps and contingency plans.

Good leadership is absolutely key for us during these unprecedented times, as it is what helps keep our ship steady. This combined with regular and clear communication keep colleagues engaged, informed and act as a good reminder that the doors are open, and anyone can ask any questions around concerns or general comments they may have.

How we are helping customers

From a business perspective, we have been providing a free subscription to RiskXchange, our cyber scoring solution, so clients can ensure that they’re not being exposed now that they are moving to remote working in haste. RiskXchange takes an external, non-intrusive snapshot of your IT environment.

No software needs to be installed in your network and the solution can produce the first report in a matter of hours highlighting any areas of weakness in your cyber security status.

Ordinarily, RiskXchange is a chargeable SAAS solution. However, these are not ordinary times. With this in mind, we are able to offer you an enterprise licence to cover your organisation for 12 months at no cost to your company.

We are also providing advice to those looking to move across to the cloud, as well as a new solution based on IBM Security Secret Server to help you keep privileged user accounts secure both on-premises and in the cloud.

It’s very much a case of business as usual here at Northdoor and we’re pleased to be here to support our customers and staff during remote working. We absolutely believe in the importance of supporting each other, especially in times like these. Stay safe everyone!
